About Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program founded in 1991 at Saddleback Church by Pastor John Baker. It is now one of the largest recovery programs in the world, with thousands of groups meeting weekly in churches across the United States and internationally.
Unlike AA, which uses a non-denominational higher power, CR explicitly grounds its program in Christian faith — using Scripture alongside the 12 steps to address addiction, codependency, and a wide range of life's hurts, habits, and hang-ups.
